The beautifully restored village of Appomattox Court House is the site of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee's surrender to Gen. U.S. Grant April 9, 1865. The park visitor center is located in the historic courthouse, and tours are offered of the reconstructed McLean House, where Lee and Grant met. Ranger programs and living history programs are offered frequently during summer months. Other park features include Lee's and Grant's headquarter sites, a Confederate Cemetery and many restored buildings in the village.

Park open 9 am-5 pm daily. $10/vehicle.
